As a front-end web developer specializing in HTML / CSS / JavaScript, I have helped to build websites for many organizations. I have also led project teams and mentored other developers.

Most recently, I have worked with Agile teams inside companies such as Hang Seng Bank and Zurich Insurance Hong Kong, helping to bring internal projects and platforms into reality.

Open source

I am the creator/maintainer of a number of packages for OpenWrt, a Linux operating system targeting wireless routers and other embedded devices, including:

  • The Python interpreter and various Python library packages
  • The Go compiler and a system to package other Go programs for OpenWrt
  • byobu, a text-based window manager and terminal multiplexer
  • obfs4proxy, a censorship circumvention tool
  • slide-switch, a package for devices with a sliding switch, to make the switch easier to program

I am the author of several plugins for gedit, the GNOME text editor:

I am also the author of Google Cache Continue Redux, a userscript to browse websites using Google’s cache that was highlighted in Lifehacker.

On StackOverflow, I am in the top 0.4% of all users in Hong Kong and top 3% worldwide.
